About Kamshet

Kamshet could be a sleepy village within the state of Maharashtra. Situated within the Western Ghats, Kamshet could be a major paragliding destination in India. referred to as the 'para-glider's paradise', Kamshet lies near the dual hill stations of Khandala and Lonavla, on the Mumbai-Pune Highway, at an altitude of regarding 2200 feet on top of ocean level. Kamshet is found at a distance of regarding a hundred and ten km from Mumbai, eighty five km from Pune and eleven km from Khandala and Lonavala.

Kamshet was a distinguished trade-route of the traditional times, that once linked the west coast with the most land. The cultural heritage of the region is clear from the traditional Buddhist cave temples and hill fortresses found within the region, which may be dated back to the medieval amount. The sculptures and pictures of Buddha and alternative intricate carvings in these ancient temples denote the creative and architectural excellence of the region.
Though Kamshet holds a very important place within the tourism map of Maharashtra, the place is understood for its rustic nature. The region of Kamshet contains of many little villages with ancient styled homes that are designed using thatches, mud and reeds.
